Sofia Rose Carey Birth Story

5/6/09 -Jeannie had a doctor’s appointment this afternoon where her membranes were stripped and they told us to head to the hospital this evening at 7:30 they will start Cervidil tonight and then Pitocin in the morning.

5/7/09 8:48AM: Removing Cervidil and starting Pitocin in 45 mins. Jeannie has been having contractions all night mostly back labor. Dr gave her some pain meds into her IV to help her sleep.

5/7/09 12:34PM: Jeannie is dilated to 3, just got her epidural and water broken.

5/7/09 3:31PM: Stopping Pitocin for 30 mins to give baby break, the baby’s heart rate has been dropping.

5/7/09 6:00PM: Dilated to 6!

5/7/09 7:00PM: Waiting to talk to Doctor about possible c-section because the baby’s heart rate has been dropping on and off.

5/7/09 8:00PM: Dilated to 9 pushing in 30 mins. Possible Vacuum but looks like no c-section.

5/7/09 8:52PM: Contractions are slowing down…

5/7/09 10:00PM: Sofia Rose was BORN 7lbs 4oz 20inches!

Sofia Rose was born at exactly 10pm on Thursday, May 7, 2009.

She was 7lbs 4oz and 20" long.

She is absolutely beautiful!!

Mom and Baby are both doing good.
